Dealer FAQs

🪵 Getting Started

  • What are the requirements to sell on the platform?

    • To maintain our quality standards, all dealers must be based in Connecticut, hold valid business insurance, and possess a self-issued firewood transportation certificate. We prioritize professionals who can guarantee volume and consistent moisture levels.

  • Is there a sign-up fee?

    • It is free to create your store and list your products. We only succeed when you do; we take a small commission on successful sales to cover platform maintenance, marketing, and credit card processing fees.

  • How do I manage my inventory?

    • Your products can be managed through your vendor dashboard. You can update your inventory at any time by adjusting the amount of stock you have left or by selecting “in stock” or “out of stock”.

🛒 Sales & Payments

  • When and how do I get paid?

    • Payments are processed securely online at the time of order. Funds are held in the platform and released to your linked account (via Stripe/PayPal) according to our weekly payout schedule once the delivery is marked as complete.

  • Can I offer off-platform deals to customers I find here?

    • No. To protect the integrity of the marketplace and our marketing investment, all business initiated through CT Firewood Delivery must stay on the platform. Circumvention is grounds for removal.

🚚 Delivery & Standards

  • Am I responsible for the delivery?

    • Yes. You are the “boots on the ground.” You coordinate the timing directly with the customer. You must contact the customer before arrival to confirm the drop location.

  • What measurements must I use?

    • In accordance with Connecticut state law, all wood must be sold by the Cord or fractions of a cord (1/2, 1/4, etc.). Selling by the “truckload” or “pile” is not permitted on the platform to ensure customer price-transparency.

  • What happens if a customer claims the wood is “wet”?

    • We stand behind our dealers, but we also protect our buyers. If a dispute arises regarding “Seasoned” wood quality, we may confirm with a moisture meter. Maintaining a high star rating is the best way to ensure your shop stays at the top of the search results. Dealers who verify all deliveries with a moisture meter are preferred.

📈 Marketing & Growth

  • How do customers find me?

    • We handle the SEO, Google Ads, and local Connecticut marketing. We drive the traffic to the site; your job is simply to provide high-quality wood and reliable service.

  • Can I set my own delivery radius?

    • Absolutely. You can specify the size of your delivery service radius. You won’t be bothered with orders from Litchfield if you only operate in New Haven County. Include your delivery prices on sign up or edit them in your profile.
